How adding to dates works
Days and weeks shift the date by an exact number of days. Months and years move the calendar month instead, keeping the same day where possible — and when the target month is shorter, the date clamps to its last day, so January 31 + 1 month lands on February 28 (or 29 in a leap year). The table shows the dates 30, 60, 90 and 180 days out, the spans used for invoices, probation periods and visa rules.
